Ubuntu 12.04 with Gnome Classic

Ubuntu 12.04 is just released. This new version is released with new Unity and Head Up Display (HUD). The new interface looks great, simple and clean. I like it.

But, I am a big fan of the old Gnome Classic. I have been using it since I knew Ubuntu from very early versions. It is not easy for me to adapt to new user interface. May be I am too lazy to change the way I use Ubuntu.

So let's bring back the Gnome Classic menu to new Ubuntu. After you have installed Ubuntu 12.04, login, then open Ubuntu Software Center from the Dock. Type Gnome Shell in the search box, then click Install button. Type again Gnome Tweak, then click Install button.

After the installation is finished, you have to restart Ubuntu to apply the changes. At the login screen, click setting icon, you will see Gnome in the options, select Gnome Classic.

Now you can login and work with Gnome Classic. To tweak Gnome settings, just open Advance Settings from menu, Preferences.
